Setting Expectations…

This is a 30-day challenge and so there are daily posts, lessons, and/or meditation activities every day. It’ll typically take you about 10-15 minutes to do the daily work. In order to get the most out of this challenge we recommend you…


  • do the daily work
  • show up for the weekly zoom calls and the kick-off meeting 
  • as well as participating in the private facebook group on a regular basis to ask questions, share your experiences, cheer others on or offer advice or tips related to topics we discuss.

The more you put in the more you will get out of this experience. The community part of this challenge can really help you get your habit dialed in and build some great relationships through the process. 


The challenge starts on the 1st of the month and we will have a Kick-off meeting to welcome you to the challenge, and answer any questions. Then we will have weekly Monday zoom calls to discuss how things are going, do a group meditation, and offer any coaching, motivation or support you need to help you reach success.

As a side note, positive psychology says… “Meditation with others helps in habit formation. Many people find it challenging to maintain consistency with individual practice. Thirty days of guided meditations. Dale introduces you to the many kinds and lengths of meditations and explains the benefits of each one.

A weekly zoom meeting gives you the opportunity to practice in a group setting as well as connect and share any struggles or victories you have had during the week.

He also answered any questions thoughtfully and thoroughly. I am more aware of what is happening in the moment, and can also notice I can get to sleep sooner by using meditation to quiet my brain. I am sharing what I learned with a small group of friends.

This 30-day meditation challenge really helped me get on the right track.

I also learned so much. For instance, I always thought you had to quiet your mind in order to "successfully" meditate now I know that is just not true and after a 31-day straight run I am now on the 22nd day of another long run of daily meditations.

I started with just a few minutes, another fallacy I had heard about how long you needed to do it was blown into the wind, now I love to do 30 minutes and sometimes twice a day.

UPDATE:
Well I finally managed 100 days of meditation in a row. Has it changed me? Have I achieved what I wanted? I am calmer these days, my anxiety much much less and easily managed.

It has also made me realise how little attention I pay to myself. Where to from here? The next 100 days will be a part of the mindfulness course I’m going with Dale from Hellagood Life. The focus will also be on connecting so I take care of myself.

By the way I don’t get up at 5am and go to a separate room etc. I simply do my meditation in my bed before and or after sleep. It’s so easy and starts and finishes my days calmly. Give it a try.

Hi, I'm Dale Berkebile

I’ve been meditating nearly daily since 2013. You see in that year, I had the perfect storm of chaos hit and it sent me into what I call depression ( I was never medically diagnosed). Anyhow, I was in a dark place for 2 years. I tried a ton of things like…

 

 

  • Getting outside more to get sun time for Vitamin D.
  • Cutting negativity from my life and trying to move to only positive things as much as possible.
  • Exercise – mostly fairly regular walking but also jumping jacks typically.
  • Reading more.
  • Trying to eat better and get better sleep.

Basically I was grasping at straws desperately trying anything I could. The first two things that started really changing things was reading Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life (basically a Western translation of the Tao Te Ching) and starting meditation. Changing my thoughts was helpful and important, but meditation was the thing I that was most helpful and truly changed my life.

 

 

I started with a 7 day challenge and felt it was really helping. Then I went to seeing if I could do 30 days then I never stopped. Now I had times where i missed days or even multiple days, but I jumped back on the meditation path because I noticed a difference when I went for a while without meditating.

 

 

In 2018 I started using the Insight Timer meditation app to track my progress and I set a goal for myself. I wanted to try to hit 365 days straight of meditation because I missed a few days here and there from time to time. I think I hit 75 days and missed a day. Then I think my longest stretch was 220 days straight. 

 

What I found was this goal took multiple years to hit because when I got out of my routine like when I was traveling, or the family had off from school/work, or the holidays or any odd life situation that threw my off of my daily routine, I’d forget.

 

 

Outside of Hellagood Life I own another business and since 1999 I’ve done a ton of personal development which included habit building so I told myself I was going to figure this out. So I got back to it. 

 

I had about 200-300 days under my belt and a friend told me they struggled with daily practice so beyond working on my own game, I decided to start digging into what helps habits stick at about 335 days I launched my first 30-Day challenge to help others build their habits. 

 

 

I went through the challenge with them in November of 2021 and the timing was if I hit 30 days with that first group, I would also hit my big goal of 365 days straight. I did that. I hit my goal.

 

 

Since then I’ve worked with multiple people going through this challenge and am still on that streak but now hitting 500 days as of 4/14/22. Multiple people going through the challenge said that they had their longest ever daily streaks of meditation by going through this challenge. 

 

You can do it too. You just need to commit and be excited and maybe be open minded as this is part habit building tricks and part different daily meditations.
